After five years, violoncellist Jiří Bárta returns to Uherské Hradiště with a performance to commemorate the 180th birth anniversary of Antonín Dvořák. The highlight of the evening will be one of the most favourite cello pieces, cello concerto in B minor, Op. 104.

Srednusha is a five-member Polish band from Świdnica. Srednusha are the soul mates who see unity in diversity. They try to combine music from different cultures, sometimes even a thousand miles apart.
Bukowicz, that’s Aneta Maciaszczyk, Jakub Buczek and Maciej Śmigrodzki. Synthesizers and guitars driven by heavy basses and rhythms. Melodic and melancholic songs in Polish. R’n’B for goths. Drum’n’bass for the vulnerable ones.

Petr Mička’s Dulcimer Band

Petr Mička’s Dulcimer Band has been on the Moravian folk scene for more than 20 years. It had gone through the dramatic development before it became a highly reputable musical ensemble, both for the traditional as well as crossover features of their music.

Old Wives’ Tales

The evening show will host a book launch of a new Czech Radio publication compiled of the letters and phone conversations from a same-name radio programme. The book will be introduced by its author, Jarka Rozsypalová-Vykoupilová, and there will also be some traditional dulcimer music and wine tasting.

Jaroslav Čech’s Dulcimer Band

The seven-membered ensemble is led by Jan Rajmic and solo singer Karel Rajmic. Jaroslav Čech’s dulcimer band is one of the major representatives of the local folk scene. The band’s repertoire includes songs from Dolňácko, Luhačovice and Moravian Highlands.

Stylistically, the album is straddled between folk, folklore, jazz and world music and is dedicated to the memory of violinist and singer Jitka Šuranská, who stood at its birth.
